The Salem Stampede are a basketball team from Salem, Oregon that played in the International Basketball League from 2005–2007. The Stampede played home games in the Salem Armory, which seats 3,000 for basketball. In 2007 the team played home games in Salem's Douglas McKay High School.
Joe Becerra, the Stampede Director of Basketball Operations and head coach, stated in an interview that the Stampede will return in 2010. The team will be part of a yet to be announced professional league. Becerra noted, "Fans can expect the same level of play from our home team and the league looks to be very competitive from day one. There are some very strong franchises coming into the new league." Salem sent 23 players on to other professional teams in two seasons of IBL play. The Stampede won the 2007 IBL Southwest Division title and finished with a 19-4 record.
